AROUND TOWN
All about Petaluma & Sonoma County
WINE, CHEESE, BEER, OYSTERS
Sonoma County is known as a mecca for foodies. Within a 45 minute drive, one can visit Lagunitas Brewery, Hog Island Oyster Farm, Sonoma or Russian River wineries, and the Marin French Cheese factory. Additional options abound - Ask us for recommendations!
HIKE, BIKE, KAYAK, GOLF
Nearby Point Reyes National Seashore and the Marin Headlands offer amazing hikes and views of the Pacific Ocean. Closer at hand is the dog-friendly Helen Putnam Regional Park, and Lake Sonoma is just a few miles north. In addition, biking the scenic highway to Tomales Bay is very popular. We also highly recommend a kayak through vineyards on the Russian River. Want to hit the links? Try Rooster Run golf course.
COMMUNITY EVENTS
Stay here to enjoy Butter & Egg Days or Salute to American Graffiti events. We are also a good option for access to Sebastopol's Apple Blossom Festival, the Sonoma County Fair, Bodega Bay Fishermen's Festival, and BottleRock!
FOOD, FUN, MUSIC
Downtown Petaluma boasts tremendous farm-to-table restaurants focusing on locally sourced ingredients. Our favorites are The Shuckery and Risibisi. Just outside of town, Lombardi's BBQ lures you in with irresistible smoked meats and amazing Pedroni's potato salad (we aren't kidding). After dinner, head over to the historic Mystic Theater to catch some local music - or one of the bigger names that often roll through!
