FAMILY NEST
Originally converted to a residence during World War II, the "Chicken House" became the Volker Family's first home in Petaluma. For their three sons, growing up on a working farm meant egg routes, milking cows, raising rabbits, and tilling the soil, but also fun with BB guns, soap box races, high school football, and barn dances. The property now boasts five additional homes (built by the patriarch), a rustic barn, and open field space - but, at the heart, stands this charming abode.
TODAY
Lovingly renovated in 2018, we are overjoyed to share our family's original home in California with others. While located very close to historic downtown Petaluma, it retains Sonoma County's agrarian spirit - both past & present. Nothing could be more appropriate than staying in a chicken house as you visit the "Egg Basket of the World"!
